Head of the Department of Otolaryngology and Laryngological Oncology at the Poznań University of Medical Sciences from 2000 to 2017. He studied in Poznań, Bordeaux, and Tuebingen. He is an otolaryngology specialist, founder and first president of the Polish Society of Skull Base Surgery, founder of the “Better Hearing” Association for the Development of New Treatment Methods for Hearing Disorders, and founder and editor-in-chief of the scientific journal “Advances in Head and Neck Surgery” since 2001. and still, Medical Coordinator of the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Program in Poland, National Consultant in Otolaryngology from 2002 to 2006, Chairman of the Council of Heads of University Otolaryngology Clinics in Poland (2007-2021), creator of the Poznań hearing implant program (over 1,700 cochlear implants), creator of live surgery sessions in otolaryngology (since 2009) and later European sessions broadcast worldwide, member of the Polish Society of Otolaryngologists, Head and Neck Surgeons (President of the Main Board 2002-2006), American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, German Otolaryngological Society, and others. Author of 1,018 publications, including 909 articles in Polish and international journals. Author of the textbooks “Neoplasms in Otorhinolaryngology” – 2012 and 2014, “Laryngology” 2016, and “Clinical Otology” 2020.
