She graduated with distinction from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Białystok. She received her PhD in 1975 for her thesis entitled “The Structure of Human Auditory Ossicles in Scanning Electron Microscopy.”
In 1989, she obtained her habilitation (habilitation) degree based on her scientific achievements and habilitation dissertation entitled “Causes of Failure in the Surgical Treatment of Laryngeal Cancer in Morphological Assessment.”
In 1999, she received the title of Professor of Medical Sciences from the President of the Republic of Poland.
Since 1995, she has been the Head of the Pediatric Otolaryngology Clinic in Białystok.
For five terms, she served as a member of the Executive Board of the Polish Society of Head and Neck Surgeons.
From 1995 to 2005, she served as a member of the Executive Board of the Pediatric Otolaryngology Section. For several terms, she chaired the Białystok Branch of the Polish Otolaryngology Society (PTORL). In 1999, she was accepted as a member of the international association, Collegium Oto-rhino-laryngologicum Amicitiae Sacrum.
From 1990 to 1998, she served as a regional specialist in otolaryngology in the Suwałki Voivodeship, and from 2001 to 2014, she served as a regional specialist in the Podlaskie Voivodeship.
She has completed numerous training courses and internships in Poland and abroad, including a 10-month stay at the Institute of Laryngology and Otology in London on a British Council scholarship in 1980, and a month-long internship at the Department of Otoneurosurgery in Cambridge and at the ORL Hopital Beaujon Clinic in Paris in 1994.
She is the author of 190 scientific publications and 11 chapters in textbooks. She has supervised seven completed doctoral dissertations, and one habilitation was obtained under her supervision. Most of the papers published during her time at the Otolaryngology Clinic are devoted to head and neck oncology. The work completed at the Pediatric Otolaryngology Clinic focuses on hearing disorders in children and pathologies of the lymphoepithelial system of the throat.
