A graduate of the First Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Warsaw. Since 1985, she has worked at the Otolaryngology Clinic of the Medical University of Warsaw, continuing her family’s professional tradition. She is a specialist in otolaryngology. She has further developed her surgical skills during internships at foreign centers in Liverpool and Bratislava, as well as numerous courses in Berlin, Marburg, Paris, Lille, and Amsterdam. Her primary research interests since the beginning of her career have been head and neck cancers, laser surgery, and reconstructive surgery. Most of her publications are devoted to these topics. She is the co-editor of two textbooks and the author of numerous chapters in otorhinolaryngology textbooks. She has led four research projects funded through competitions and served as an investigator in two projects. She has supervised nine doctoral dissertations and supervised the specialization of 19 physicians. She is an active member of the otolaryngology community in Poland. This activity is reflected in her work for organizations such as the Polish Society of Otolaryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons (a member since 1980), including as a member of the Executive Board and chair of the Masovian Branch. Her scientific interests in head and neck oncology are reflected in her membership in the Society’s Oncology Section (chair from 2009 to 2011), of which she is one of the most active members. She is also active in organizational activities at her alma mater. Her highly regarded expertise in head and neck oncology was recognized by the Minister of Health as a member of the Scientific Council of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Institute of Oncology. She is the editorial secretary of the journal Otolaryngologia Polska and a member of the Scientific Council of the Polish Otolaryngology Review. She has been awarded numerous times by the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw for her scientific and teaching work, and has also received the Jubilee Medal of Dr. Tytus Chałubiński and the medal “For Merit to the Medical University of Warsaw”.
