A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. She has devoted her entire professional career to the Otolaryngology Clinic at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin. It was at the Clinic that she earned her specializations and academic degrees, advancing through the ranks of her career. She obtained her specialist title in otolaryngology in 1986. She earned her doctorate in medical sciences in 1994 and her habilitation in 2012 based on her dissertation “Clinical Characteristics of Laryngeal Cancers in Families with Aggregated Malignant Tumors.”
Since 2012, she has served as Head of the Adult and Pediatric Otolaryngology and Laryngological Oncology Clinic at the Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin.
She is primarily interested in the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck cancers, with particular emphasis on genetic determinants. Her scientific achievements, primarily devoted to this topic, include papers published in peer-reviewed Polish and international journals (total Impact Factor = 56.085, Hirsch index 8).
She is the author or co-author of chapters in the textbook Clinical Otolaryngology, edited by K. Niemczyk, J. Składeń, Cz. Stankiewicz, and W. Szyfter, and co-author of the chapter “Microsurgery in Laryngology” in the textbook Microsurgery, edited by A. Żyluk.
She has received numerous awards for her research and teaching from the Rector of the Medical University of Lublin (individual and team awards) and received a team award from the Minister of Health. She was twice honored by the Rector of her alma mater with medals for her services to PAM (Polish Medical Academy) in 2013 and for her services to PUM (Polish Medical Academy) in 2019.
From 2009 to 2014, she served as a consultant in otolaryngology in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.
She has been a member of the Polish Society of Otolaryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons since 1980. From the beginning of her membership, she has actively contributed to the Society, serving in various positions in the Szczecin branch of PTORL CHGiSz – Board Member, Treasurer, and Vice-Chairwoman. From 2014 to 2016, she served as President-elect and from 2016 to 2018 as Chairwoman of the Executive Board of the Polish Society of Otolaryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons. She also served on the Oncology Section of the Polish Society of Otolaryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons (PTORL CHGiSz) – serving as a Board Member from 2013-2015 and as Chairwoman of the Board from 2017-2019. In 2016, she chaired the Organizing and Scientific Committee of the 48th Congress of the Polish Society of Otolaryngologists and Head and Neck Surgeons in Szczecin, and in 2019, she organized the 18th PTORL Oncology Conference in Szczecin.
